One FREE textbook will be included for students from the UK.   Students outside the UK will need to buy the textbook separately (normally from an internet bookstore).  No other books are required.


Method of study 

Textbook study. Written assignments based on textbooks and exercises. Assignment questions are issued by email and students return their written work by email. Grades and feedback are issued by email.

This course in Depression and Bipolar Management is aimed at professionals, wellness workers, coaches, family members and volunteers who would like to help people with depression and bipolar disorder (manic depression) to improve their lives and inform themselves about the treatment options available to them from the medical profession and complementary or talking-therapy approaches. The course may also be taken for personal interest. The course textbook, which has over 300 large-format pages, includes many questionnaires, charts, and plans that can help the person using the course for self-therapy or that can be useful for support groups, coaching, etc.

Entry criteria and suitability 

This course is for therapists, counsellors, coaches and other helping professionals who would like a source of practical knowledge for helping clients to cope with the symptoms of depression and bipolar disorder.  It is suitable for one-to-one practice or as a resource for group leaders. The course may also be taken for personal interest and self-help purposes.



Successful graduates will receive the Diploma in Depression and Bipolar Management awarded by UK College of Holistic Training which is a private UK qualification. The college is accredited by the International Association for Distance Learning. Course graduates may use the postnominal initials Dip.D.B.M.
